Don't say "open" a book in Korean. In English, people say "open the book", right? But in Korean, they say it differently. Not only books but also other words do not use the verb "open" Then shall we find out what verbs they use in this case? In Korean, people don't say "Open the book" but unfold it. The same goes for umbrellas. Don't say "Open your umbrella.", just say "Unfold your umbrella.". What other words are there? It is the same with hands too. Don't say "Open your hand.", just say "Unfold your hand.". In addition, these verbs are often used with nouns reffering to body parts such as shoulders, waist, and knees. It can also be used for wrinkles, mats, etc., and is also used for dreams futures, and thoughts. If you say "Unfold, spread your dreams.", it means you should push your dreams freely. In English, people seems to use the verb "open" a lot. However, in Korean, the scope of writing is very limited, such as "open the door, open your mind, and open a meeting."
